So what are the red flags this email is a scam?
- I never ordered Norton Antivirus;
- The email address;
- 1 of an infinite variety of variations on the “always beware of a scam” theme; and
- Grammar and structural errors. Be advised, though, that the advent of AI is making this a much less reliable method, as criminals are now able to generate very convincing and very professional-looking emails.
Be smart, be wise, always verifies! It may take an extra minute or 2, but it’s better than losing hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
